Lamentations 3:19 and following...

I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall.  I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me.  Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 

I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him."

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;  it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.  It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young.

Let him sit alone in silence, for the Lord has laid it on him.  Let him bury his face in te dust--there may yet be hope.  Let him offer his cheek to the one who would strike him, and let him be filled with disgrace.

For men are not cast off by the Lord forever.  Though He brings grief, He will show compassion, so great is His unvailing love.  For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men. 

tonite was great.  every wednesday i get to go to 1st baptist bolivar and tell a bunch of 8th grade girls what i think about this world and what's true and what's not.  it rocks.  they love it.

You will not be in Heaven 2 seconds before you cry out, "Why did I place so much importance on things that were so temporary?  What was I thinking?  Why did I waste so much time, energy and concern on  what wasn't going to last?!"

Friends, this world is not your home, so don't make yourselves cozy in it.  Don't indulge your ego at the expense of your soul.  1Peter 2:11

With all the cool stuff around us, it's easy to forget that the pursuit if happiness is not what life is about. 

Your identity is in eternity, and your homeland is heaven.  When you grasp this truth, you will stop worrying about "having it all" on earth. 

We're not completely happy here because we're not supposed to be!  You will have happy moments here, but nothing compared with what God has planned for you. 

In God's eyes, the greatest heroes of faith are not those who achieve prosperity, success, and power in this life, but those who treat this life as a temporary assignment and serve faithfully, expecting their promised reward in eternity.

At death you won't leave home...you'll go home.
